Athena Controls Information July 2003 Athena Controls begins roll out of IDM’s label printing and serialization application to its manufacturing floor. Athena Controls began limited printing from its new barcode printing and serialization application software. The application allows for flexibility in printing various label information based on the production code and description data provided by Athena Controls MRP software. The ability to print labels on demand greatly reduces the time to print and match the labels to the proper product/component. Features of the software allow for graphic image printing and importing. Athena Controls can attach specific label information to standard products and meet customer specific labeling requirements. It has already begun to yield results concerning its labeling requirements. The label design has over 14 unique slit cut labels to meet its product labeling requirements. The application will ultimately reduce to the time needed to produce labels and in the future enable Athena Controls to automate it serial tracking capability.
